  group:    Tipulidae = Link
1ñ             Crane flies are adapted to moist habitats; with some
species being wholly aquatic while others are semiaquatic.  The larvae of most species are plant feeders,
although the tribes Hexatomini and Pedecini are mostly predaceous.  Many of the species living in an aquatic
environment feed extensively on larvae of Chironomidae and related insects,
while some living in the banks of streams and ponds feed largely on worms
(Clausen 1940/62).     References:   Please refer to  <biology.ref.htm>, [Additional
